In this band-yet-to-be, "cover girls" should be as attractive as models. Members will play and sing cover songs previously made famous by female artists and groups... And they'll be boys, under-cover as gurlz.With more than four years of posts on that blog, I've been thinking about a project for this fantasy band.
While it would be be great if some of the musicians I've identified could get together and record some songs or play some gigs, that's probably not very realistic.
However, maybe some of the gurls could record vocal, guitar, keyboard, drum, and/or bass tracks to the same song. Make some video too -- perhaps everybody in the band could wear a little black dress. Then, just maybe, a technical whiz on the internet could weave these recordings together. It would involve putting together both some audio and video tracks.
Fantasy? Who could help?
I've sent tweets to keyboardist Jessy Fanto, singer Courtney Act and singer JohnnyBoyXO is hopes that they'll each shoot a video of "We Got the Beat" by the Go-Gos. It would probably be best if Jessy recorded separate keyboard and vocal tracks as one of the other gurls may be singing lead.
For guitar, how about Myra? Or Sometimes Jessica?
These gurls are all based in the US. Courtney Act is from down under, but is currently in LA.
Unfortunately, I have not yet identified a US-based drummer. Help! Meanwhile, perhaps Lilith LaCroix or Luisa could play.
As for bass...I am at a loss.
